Tea cup making

图片
Shaping The first step in making tea cups is to make clay plastic, which is like nature's plasticity of mountain roots and wetlands. decoration The inspiration for the decoration here mainly comes from human transformation of wetland boundaries, and the texture here attempts to imitate walls made of rocks. air-dry This process is very similar to the process of long-term weathering on rock walls.

#5 Midterm Pin-Up

图片
Midterm  Pin-Up During the midterm Pin-Up, we compared the morphological differences between the Sanwang Wetland and the Shangen Wetland and presented our research on the ambiguity and dynamic changes of boundaries. We believe that the significant differences in the morphology of the two wetlands are due to differences in terrain and human activities. Ambiguity of Boundary The boundaries of the same place are different from different perspectives. The growth of plants blurs the boundaries Human behavior blurs boundaries Models & Drawings Feedback 1. The diagram needs improvement, needs to be expressed in a more formal way, and requires scale. 2. A specific and in-depth study of a 'boundary' can be conducted 3. Need to have one's own perspective: are fuzzy boundaries good or bad? 4. Starting to think about how these relate to architecture? 5. Reduce photos and replace them with diagrams.

Studio: Wetland III : Ambiguityf Boundaries

top view Visually, several distinct boundaries can be seen. But in fact... The boundaries seen from different perspectives are different. Therefore, we believe that the concept of 'boundary' is very ambiguous.

Comparison The most obvious difference between the two wetlands is in their morphology. I believe that this morphological difference is mainly caused by terrain and human activities. Terrain difference Human activities differences Function difference As a landscape wetland, the landscape attributes of Sanyang Wetland have been amplified and transformed by human activities. As an agricultural wetland, the transformation of Shangen Wetland by humans mainly revolves around agricultural activities.

#3 Collage:Anthropocene

图片
Anthropocene The Anthropocene is an unofficial geological time unit used to describe the latest period in Earth's history when human activities began to have an impact on the Earth's climate and ecosystem. These impacts include global warming, species extinction, white pollution, and radiation pollution. But behind the term 'Anthropocene' lies the contemplation of human responsibility: this is an era shaped by human behavior, and humanity is shaping the future. Photography about the Anthropocene Oil Bunkering, Niger Delta, Nigeria 2016 Oil Bunkering, Niger Delta, Nigeria 2016 Saw Mills, Lagos, Nigeria Dandora Landfill, Plastics Recycling, Nairobi, Kenya 2016 Collage: Anthropocene Collage Ⅱ This work mainly reflects the shaping effect of human behavior on the research site, using a lattice to express the diverse dynamics of human shaping.

#2 Mapping Studio :Wetland I

Landscape: Wetland This semester's studio will focus on 'landscape', and our main theme is 'wetland' Site1:三垟湿地/ Sanyang Wetland Site Map biodiversity The biodiversity of wetlands has become an interesting point of this field trip. We recorded the various flowers we encountered along the way pavilions On the other hand, as an architectural element that interacts with wetlands, pavilions are another area of interest to me Tea experience As the main activity of this field trip, tea tasting brought me a unique experience Site2:山根湿地/ Shangen Wetland In order to further understand the wetlands, we chose another site for comparison. Site Map These are the interesting spots we observed during our on-site investigation: some islands are surrounded by stone walls, while others are directly transitioned from islands to rivers.
