 Story of the boundaries

In the Shangen Wetland, the boundaries of the islands have aroused our interest. There are different forms of island boundaries here, which reflect the human transformation of this land.

How about see from another perspective?

Before humans arrived on this land, nature endowed it with form

Humanity has come to this land, and in order to cultivate it better, someone has suggested, "We need a fence to prevent soil erosion." At this moment, human activities are beginning to shape the form of this land.

With the arrival of the rainy season, floods flooded the farmland on the island, giving people a natural response. "We need a higher wall to prevent floods! At the same time, we can build it more beautifully!" In order to resist nature, a wall made of neatly cut stones was built.

As time passed, weathering destroyed the rocks and nature once again reshaped the appearance of this island.

People had no choice but to build the wall again, and this time, the counterattack from nature seemed not as fierce as before. Climbing plants covered the wall, and nature, together with humans, completed the shaping of the island's form in a subtle balance.

At another location on this island

In another part of this island, there lies a house destroyed by a typhoon. The people who once lived here have left the land, and gradually, the farmland is abandoned, and weeds begin to grow.

The story goes on ......

One day, a traveler arrived at this place, captivated by the sunset here. He paused to admire it. At this moment, the farmers who had labored all day gathered at the dock, rowing their boats. They took out a radio, listening and chatting. A farmer noticed the traveler and eagerly started a conversation, eventually inviting him aboard to a better spot on the island to enjoy the sunset. The traveler, noticing the abandoned land, decided to leave something behind as a token of gratitude for the local people's hospitality, and to continue telling the stories of this land he had heard from the farmers.
